Our Mission:

To enhance mental and physical health, strengthen family dynamics, and provide the necessary

education and resources. Available for any new parent in the North Quabbin area, including

adoptive parents, grandparents, and everyone in the postpartum period, regardless of their

child's presence.

About the Program:

The postpartum period is a time of change for families, and for many in the North Quabbin area,

it can also be a time of uncertainty and need.

Our initial Postpartum Visiting Program aims to provide compassionate, accessible, and personalized postpartum care.

Whether you're adjusting to a new healthy baby, coping with infant loss, or a new parent in recovery from substance use, we are here to help connect you with local resources for continued support.

Our Goals:

• Support All Families: Provide personalized postpartum support for families of all kinds.
• Improve Mental and Physical Health: Focus on mental health during the postpartum period, physical wellness for both mother and/or baby, preventing potential complications.
• Resource Connection: Guide families through local resources for healthcare, community services, and more.
• Encourage Support: Foster peer support and offer professional guidance from our public health nurse and social worker.

What We Provide:

• A one time in person visit ideally within the first two weeks postpartum, but up to the first year of giving birth or adopting a baby.
• Education and demonstrations on the safety, health and wellness of both you and your baby. A gift bag filled with essentials, freebies and educational resources.
• The nurse or another person from the program will call you 2-3 weeks after your visit to check back in and make sure you have been able to connect with the resources and supports you need.

The Postpartum Visiting Program is a public health initiative providing FREE home visits from Public Health Nurse.
